Love is Blind?

Love is a powerful emotion and really can be blinding. The one in love most times see in rose coloured glasses and the object of love is usually without blemish. This makes it easy for tricksters, conmen and fraudsters to use love as a leverage to take advantage of people. However, love in spite of this make life and world to go around

Jay Colby

“Love is blind… we all have been played once”

This quote was written by a great philosopher that stated that love is blinding, because it’s hard to see clearly when you’re in love. Many times love is seen as a powerful pleasure or deep pain depending on what side we fall on can change our perception of love.  Love can give us the feeling that even money cannot buy or cause us pain that can seem never ending.  No matter our age or experience love is always a topic that we all are still trying understand and figure out.

‘Love is Blind’

Majority of the time when someone says love is blind they usually mean when we are in midst of deep love and think everything our partner does is right. Many times we tend to be blinded to the behavior or negative traits that differ from our idealized image…

I Can Read Your Mind: How Being Observant Helps Me Know You

Being the youngest child means I was constantly watching my siblings do things. I was constantly taking mental notes on what to do, how to act, facial expressions, and peoples voice tones. All these things have been amplified over the years to the point where I can usually feel what peopel feel or know what someone is thinking.

I noticed this skill when I got deep into my psychology degree when I really learned why people react the way they do, and how important non-verbal communication is. Mix that with my apartment zodiac powers of being a cancer and apparently feeling everything. I also learned how to be present, in more then just the moment. Be present in your surroundings, your feelings, the vibes that people send out into the universe. All things can be seen, heard, and felt if we take the time to acknowledge their existence.

So how…

What Waiting Tables Taught Me

These are nuggets of life but alas a lot of people don’t care to have these as their guide.

Being a waitress/ waiter may be one of the most trying jobs a human being can have. Bad tippers is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the things you have to deal with waiting tables. These are a fewbriefthings I learned in my year of being a waitress.

Always Be Moving

Serving the actual tables is the least of your responsibilities. I learned that there is never such thing as down time . When the kitchen needs to be stocked, silverware needs to be rolled, and tea always needs to be brewed. It’s like a metaphor for life: just when you get comfortable and relaxed, a curve ball will be thrown at you, which might consist of an entire little league team.

Keep Your Business To Yourself

Don’t you hate when your waitress hovers around your table? Constantly interrupting your family time with their stories or…

tarry a while (vii)

“But, and here comes the rub, all of us feel that we are in complete control of our desire for things. We would never admit to an ungovernable spirit of covetousness. The problem is that we, like the alcoholic, are unable to recognize the disease once we have been engulfed by it. Only by the … Continue reading tarry a while (vii)

Reading to Write – Message for Aspiring Authors

Writing is one craft you cannot perfect. Being a reader, an avid reader, helps one in the writing journey. Your ability to read and love of reading takes you on an endless journey that expands your mind, widen your horizon, give you new friends and help greatly in reengineering and remodelling you. No wonder the axiom, ‘readers are leaders’. The tragedy and irony of this era is that in spite of the mammoth information and almost overwhelming information produced by the Internet; many people nowadays are non readers. So you wonder at how they reason and what they do think. This is a great post and I have learned a lot from it . Thank you.

Earlier this week, as I scrolled through my email, I came across my girl Lisa’s Guest Blog Post  on the importance of having a good story line when writing erotica.First, I invite you to check out Lisa’s post (especially if you’re an Erotica writer) to get a better understanding of what I’m about to say. Lisa drew me in and nailed it. I’ll definitely be reading up on her upcoming series. Check her post out here.

One of the reasons I don’t review Erotica (I do read it occassionally, I just don’t review it) is because I’ve had bad experiences with Indie Author writers of this genre and not just Erotica but also Urban Fiction. Many of the writers who are emerging now showcase a variety of books that have bomb book covers and invite you in to read. Sometimes I just sit back and…
